Buckingham Vintners goes Forth with Chile
Buckingham Vintners has seen its Chilean sector continue to thrive over the past six months, through a successful partnership with the San Pedro Wine Group which consists of San Pedro Vineyards & Winery, Viña Tabalí and Altaïr Vineyards & Winery, all will be on show at the forthcoming Wines of Chile Annual Trade Tasting.

Autumn 2005 sees a renewed energy behind 35 South. Currently sitting in the top 25 list of brands in the UK (AC Nielsen) and following the successful 2003 campaign, a media push for Autumn 2005 and 2006 is planned to target the Adventurer sector, alongside a consumer sampling programme. In addition, 35 South will also be on show at this year's BBC Good Food Show in November where it is always a hit with visitors.
In July 2005, San Pedro welcomed Pablo Turner as Managing Director. His main objectives are "to contribute to the brand building process and to develop better distribution channels, with special emphasis on our key markets, the UK and USA". With this in mind, San Pedro's core brands, 35 South (new refreshed packaging), GatoNegro and Castillo de Molina will be on show at the tasting and Irene Paiva, Winemaker will be in attendance to guide you through these wines.
Vina Tabali - Table 21
Since its launch in 2004, Viña Tabalí has enjoyed remarkable success including three recent gold medals, and a Decanter World Wine Awards Trophy, making a total of 38 international awards to date. Chile’s northernmost premium winery will be showing the full range of Tabalí wines at the Wines of Chile Tasting, including the launch of two new wines; Tabalí Reserva Especial Pinot Noir 2004 and Tabalí Late Harvest Moscatel 2005. 2005 has seen an increase in UK listings with the Reserva Especial Chardonnay, Reserva Shiraz and Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon at Sainsburys and the Reserva Especial Chardonnay and Reserva Merlot in Asda and an increasing presence in the on-trade. Viña Tabalí is the latest San Pedro venture owned in equal parts by San Pedro and Guillermo Luksic. The winemakers (both women) are Yanira Maldonado who is based in the Limari Valley, and Irene Paiva, who is Consultant Winemaker
Altaïr Vineyards & Winery - Table 19
Altaïr Vineyards & Winery is the joint venture between Chateau Dassault Grand Cru Classe of Saint-Emilion and San Pedro of Chile. The winery will be presenting the first vintage of their two premium red blended wines - Altaïr 2002 and Sideral 2002. They will also be showcasing for the first time in Europe the 2003 vintage. The Altaïr project was developed in 2001 with the objective of combining Chateau Dassault's savoir-faire in creating masterpiece wines with San Pedro's knowledge and experience of the Chilean terroir. |
